Biography: Thomas Rau (Gummersbach,1960) had his education in the field of arts of design and dance at the academy of arts and studied architecture at the RWTH Aken. Since 1990 he has worked as an architect in Amsterdam, where he started RAU in 1992. Rau actively takes part in the present international discussion about durability and the development of energy saving technologies. He delivers lectures on 'Oneplanetarchitecture' at home and abroad and is a member of the Dutch Green Building Council.
